For some reason, another apparent consensus is that we make decisions based exclusively on emotions or reasons. And that there is something derogatory about relying on our emotions.
However, in reality, we often find ourselves making choices using emotional knowledge, that is, according to our emotions. An example could be deciding where in the house to place a potted plant. This makes it clear how rationality and emotion are not exclusive functions, but rather cooperative with each other.
The connection between the brain areas responsible for emotions and reasoning involves the amygdala – which plays a role in processing emotions – and the prefrontal cortex, which handles reasoning and decision-making. These regions communicate to balance emotional responses with logical thinking, influencing our behavior and choices.
Therefore, it is naturally human to use emotions as determinants in our daily lives, let's be emotional 😅
